"We have stayed here several times. My 3 boys love fishing right from the lodge area. You can purchase all the items you need from the small store across the street. The rooms are great, we can't wait to go back!..."

Welcome to Sequoia Lodge
Riverfront, 14 room Lodge on the "Wild and Scenic" Kern River in Kernville. When your active-or not-so-active day is done, you'll return to the comfort of your own room, with bed, bathroom with shower, kitchenette, free wi-fi and DirecTV. We are in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains, in Kern County, 42 miles northeast of Bakersfield. Kernville has a large tourist industry centered on the white water rapids of the Kern River.
Outdoor activities include white water rafting, both reel and fly fishing, hiking, windsurfing at Lake Isabella, mountain biking, gold panning, and bird watching at the Audubon Preserve. In winter, nearby Alta Sierra Lodge offers snow skiing and tubing. The spectacular Giant Sequoia Grove 30 miles from Kernville called "Trail of 100 Giants" is a must see!

If shooting the rapids is not your thing, there's still plenty to do. Bring a camera and take advantage of the beautiful landscape and all that it holds to capture that perfect picture. Grab a book and relax with a glass of wine on our riverfront, or take in some local history that is rich and full of lore by visiting our museum. Shop for unique treasures in our several antique stores. Downtown Kernville has an Old West look with a number of restaurants while the Kern River Fish Hatchery offers tours and Kern Valley Airport provides service for small private planes and has an on-site café.

"O" magazine has listed Kernville as #5 of 60 small towns to visit. Click to read the article.
